How to make a list of abbreviations in Word (or any word processor)?

Why are there so many acronyms?

This tool is designed to broadly select all potential acronyms so you don't miss any.
Since acronyms can appear in various forms, the tool may pick up a few that aren’t actual acronyms.
You can easily remove them by clicking on the "✕" (cross) next to the term.

Acronyms or abbreviations? I'm confused.

Short answer: It doesn't matter. Acronyms are a type of abbreviation, and this tool is specifically designed to find acronyms.
Unless you're specifically defining things like "Dr" (Doctor) or "I'm" (I am), you don't need to worry about abbreviations in general.

Limitations

This tool won't capture acronyms written in lowercase (e.g., laser) or those with only a single uppercase letter (e.g., Unicef).

That said, if you've written an acronym this way, it's probably well-known and doesn't need further explanation.
